About Dr. Bruce Nguyen OD
Dr. Bruce Nguyen, OD, boasts extensive expertise in optometry, particularly specializing in various types of contact lenses such as Multifocal, RGP, Scleral, and Ortho-K Corneal Refractive Therapy. With a profound dedication to myopia control, he finds particular fulfillment in fitting scleral lenses for patients with keratoconus. Before embarking on his optometric journey, Dr. Nguyen served in the U.S. Navy for five years, including a notable two-year stint aboard the USS Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka, Japan.
Following his military service, Dr. Nguyen pursued his education at the University of California, Irvine, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. He furthered his studies at the Southern California College of Optometry, earning his optometry degree with high honors in 2011.
Dr. Nguyen practices at Clairemont Optometry and San Diego Vision Care in San Diego, a leading multi-locations practice specializing in myopia control, particularly focused on providing exceptional eye care experiences for pediatric contact lens patients. Additionally, he serves as the director of the myopia control clinic at Optom-Eyes Vision Care Group, a multi-location optometric organization spanning Imperial Valley County and San Diego County. Dr. Nguyen employs various cutting-edge techniques, including low-dose atropine eye drops, Ortho-K Corneal Refractive Therapy lenses, MiSight daily lenses, and specialty soft multifocal lenses, in his relentless pursuit of preserving and improving his patients’ eyesight year after year.

WE OFFER DIGITAL RETINAL IMAGING!
A special camera allows the capture of high-resolution photographs of the retina, the light-sensitive lining inside the eye. The images enable the doctor to diagnose subtle diseases of the eye that can threaten your vision. These images become part of your exam record, available for future comparison.
